Ισραήλ-Παλαιστίνη: Πότε θα τελειώσει;

Η παλαιά χρονιά μας άφησε και η νέα χρονιά μας βρήκε να συζητάμε παγκοσμίως για τον πόλεμο μεταξύ των δύο αυτών κρατών. Από τη μια μεριά το Ισραήλ το οποίο έχει στη διάθεσή του την απόλυτη στήριξη των Αμερικανών και από την αντίπαλη πλευρά η Παλαιστίνη η οποία αποτελεί ένα μη αναγνωρισμένο κράτος από τον Οργανισμό Ηνωμένων Εθνών , αν και οι χώρες-μέλη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης (όπως και η ίδια η ΕΕ ως νομικό πρόσωπο) διατηρεί διπλωματικές επαφές με την “παλαιστινιακή αρχή” (δηλαδή επί της ουσίας έχουν διπλωματικές επαφές με την Παλαιστίνη , χωρίς να είναι άμεσα αναγκασμένοι να αναγνωρίσουν το Παλαιστινιακό Κράτος).

εδώ είναι ανάγκη να αναφερθεί μια μεγάλη σύγχυση η οποία επιμελώς γίνεται αυτές τις ημέρες. Η συγκεκριμένη γεωγραφική περιοχή δεν αποτελεί κομμάτι της μέσης ανατολής , αλλά της εγγύς ανατολής. Μπορεί σε οικονομικά και πολιτικά πλαίσια να χρησιμοποιείται ο όρος μέση ανατολή , αλλά άποψη του γράφοντα είναι πως καμία από τις δύο προαναφερθείσες επιστήμες δεν έχει να κάνει με την χωροθέτηση περιοχών. Και στο κάτω κάτω της γραφής για να υπάρχει “μέση” , θα πρέπει να υπάρχει και “αρχή” (εγγύς).

Οι διενέξεις των δύο λαών ξεκινούν εδώ και αρκετές χιλιετίες , καθώς τα δύο αντίπαλα στρατόπεδα δεν είναι παρά οι Ισραηλίτες (οι οποίοι φύγαν από την Αίγυπτο) και οι Φιλισταίοι , καθώς Παλαιστίνη δεν είναι παρά εξελληνισμένη μορφή της λέξης Φαλαστίν , των οποίων οι πόλεμοι αποτελούν και ένα μεγάλο κομμάτι της Παλαιάς Διαθήκης. Με μια γρήγορη επισκόπηση στα γεγονότα των τελευταίων 50 ετών μπορούμε να δούμε τα εξής:

Το Ισραήλ είναι οι γνωστοί από τη Βίβλο και τη χριστιανική παράδοση Ισραηλίτες οι οποίοι ζούσαν στην γη της Χαναάν εδώ και πάρα πολλά χρόνια , αφού είχαν πρώτα φροντίσει να διώξουν τους λαούς οι οποίοι ήδη ζούσαν στην περιοχή. Στα 1947 ο ΟΗΕ πήρε στον έλεγχό του την Παλαιστίνη και στις 29 Νοεμβρίου του ίδιου έτους προτείνει σχέδιο για τη διαίρεση της Παλαιστίνης σε δύο κράτη ένα Ισραηλινό και ένα αραβικό και τη μετατροπή της Ιερουσαλήμ σε διεθνή πόλη εκτός συνόρων. Έτσι η παλαιά πόλη της Ιερουσαλήμ περνά στην εξουσία της Ιορδανίας και η νέα πόλη περιέχεται στα χέρια των Ισραηλινών. Η απόφαση αυτή έκανε τους Άραβες να ξεκινήσουν βίαιες διαμαρτυρίες κατά των Ισραηλιτών σε μια εποχή όπου η αναλογία Ισραηλιτών και Αράβων στην περιοχή ήταν περίπου 1:3 (590,000 Εβραίοι και 1,320,000 Άραβες.

Στις 14 Μαΐου 1948 , το ανώτατο εβραϊκό συμβούλιο ανακήρυξε την δημιουργία του Ισραήλ, και όρκισε πρόεδρο τον Χάιμ Βάιζμαν και πρωθυπουργό τον σιωνιστή ηγέτη, Δαβίδ Μπεν Γκουριόν. Παράλληλα, ένας μυστικός Ισραηλινός στρατός, ο Χάγκαναχ, που σχηματίστηκε στα χρόνια μετά το Ολοκαύτωμα παρουσιάζεται πλέον ως ο τακτικός στρατός του κράτους του Ισραήλ. Ο Χάγκαναχ ήταν εξοπλισμένος με όπλα τελευταίας τεχνολογίας προερχόμενα από Αγγλία και Αμερική. Αμέσως μετά την απόφαση των Ηνωμένων Εθνών ξέσπασαν συγκρούσεις ανάμεσα στους Άραβες, που απέρριψαν το σχέδιο, και τους Ισραηλινούς. Στις 15 Μαΐου αμέσως μετά την απόφαση της ανεξαρτησίας, άρχισε ο Αραβοϊσραηλινός πόλεμος του 1948, που θα ακολουθούνταν από πολλές ακόμα συγκρούσεις που συνεχίζονται μέχρι και τις μέρες μας. Κύριες στιγμές της Αραβοϊσραηλινής σύγκρουσης ήταν ο πόλεμος των Έξι Ημερών του 1967 , ο πόλεμος του Γιομ Κιππούρ του 1973. Από τις 19 Νοεμβρίου του 1977 ο πρωθυπουργός της Αιγύπτου Ανβάρ ας Σαντάτ, ξεκινά ειρηνευτικές διαπραγματεύσεις μαζί με το Ισραήλ στην Ιερουσαλήμ, με αποτέλεσμα στις 26 Μαρτίου του 1979, να υπογραφεί στο Camp David, συμφωνία που όριζε πως το Ισραήλ δεχόταν να αποσυρθεί από το Σινά και ύστερα από την Λωρίδα της Γάζας και την δυτική όχθη. Το δεύτερο μέρος δεν εφαρμόστηκε ποτέ από το Ισραήλ.

Εν συνεχεία ακολούθησαν ο πόλεμος του Λιβάνου το 1982 καθώς και η Ιντιφάντα, συνεχιζόμενη ένοπλη εξέγερση των Παλαιστινίων του Ισραήλ που ξεκίνησε το 1987. Οι διαφορές Αράβων και Ισραηλινών φάνηκαν να διευθετούνται προσωρινά με τις Συνθήκες του Όσλο του 1994 που προέβλεπαν τη δημιουργία της Παλαιστινιακής Αρχής, ξεχωριστού κράτους των Παλαιστινίων, χωρίς ωστόσο οι συγκρούσεις να σταματήσουν. Καθώς όμως το Ισραήλ ποτέ δεν τήρησε την συμφωνία, στις 31 Μαρτίου του 1997 τα Αραβικά κράτη ξεκίνησαν μποϋκοτάζ εναντίον του.

Το 1996 στις 11 Απριλίου, πραγματοποιείται η Σφαγή της Κανά που έμεινε γνωστή ως Qana massacre. Ο Ισραηλινός στρατός επιτίθεται σε προσφυγικό καταυλισμό στην Κανά του Λιβάνου όπου υποτίθεται πως υπήρχαν στρατιωτικοί στόχοι. Η αποτυχία ήταν παταγώδης με αποτέλεσμα να σκοτωθούν πάνω από 100 παιδιά. Στο θέαμα οι δημοσιογράφοι που κάλυπταν το γεγονός κατέρρεαν μπροστά στις κάμερες, ενώ ο ΟΗΕ δεν τιμώρησε ποτέ το Ισραήλ για αυτή την πράξη. (Πηγή wikipedia).

Και τώρα τα τρέχοντα γεγονότα:

Η τελευταία εκεχειρία την οποία υπέγραψαν οι δύο πλευρές έσπασε στις 16.12.2008 , όταν οι Παλαιστίνιοι κατηγόρησαν τους Ισραηλινούς για τη μη άρση της απαγόρευσης της λωρίδας της Γάζας , με τους Ισραηλινούς να κατηγορούν από τη μεριά τους ότι οι Παλαιστίνιοι χτυπούσαν με πυραύλους τις νότιες πόλεις και κοινότητές τους. Στις 27 Δεκεμβρίου 2008 οι Ισραηλινές αμυντικές δυνάμεις ξεκινούν μια σειρά βομβαρδισμών στις υποδομές της Παλαιστίνης. Επίσημα δήλωσαν πως στόχοι αυτής της διένεξης ήταν η παύση από μεριάς παλαιστινίων των χτυπημάτων στις νότιες περιοχές τους και να εμποδίσουν να επανοπλιστεί η Χαμάς. Από τη μεριά της η Χαμάς απαίτησε την παύση της Ισραηλινής επίθεσης και την άρση του αποκλεισμού.

Στο τέλος της 1ης μέρας της επίθεσης η Ισραηλινή Δύναμη βομβάρδισε 100 εγκαταστάσεις ασφαλείας της Χαμάς (όπως αστυνομικούς σταθμούς , φυλακές και διοικητικά κτίρια) μέσα σε 4 λεπτά μετά την έναρξη. Ακόμη χτύπησαν ανάλογους στόχους σε όλες τις μεγάλες πόλεις της Γάζας. Το ναυτικό του Ισραήλ κάλυψε στόχους στη Γάζα , δημιουργώντας παράλληλα και ναυτικό αποκλεισμό , ο οποίος είχε ως αποτέλεσμα ένα ναυτικό ατύχημα με βάρκα πολιτών.

Στο αντίπαλο στρατόπεδο τώρα , η Χαμάς είχε μειώσει τις επιθέσεις της κατά την περίοδο της εκεχειρίας , αλλά τις ανανέωσε αυξάνοντας το βεληνεκές των επιθέσεών της σε 40km , οδηγώντας στην καταστροφή υποδομών και σε απώλειες πολιτών.

Στις 3 Ιανουαρίου 2009 άρχισε η επίγεια εισβολή , με άρματα μάχης , τα οποία υποστηριζόταν από ελικόπτερα. Την ώρα που ο Ισραηλινός Υπουργός άμυνας ισχυριζόταν ότι θα είναι πόλεμος μέχρις εσχάτων , αρχηγοί των ενόπλων δυνάμεων του Ισραήλ πρότειναν τη λήξη των επιχειρήσεων στις 6 Ιανουαρίου. Εκπρόσωποι της Χαμάς δήλωσαν ότι είναι έτοιμοι να υπογράψουν συνθήκη ειρήνης η οποία θα σταματήσει τον αποκλεισμό της Γάζας.

Τελικά ποιο είναι το αποτέλεσμα όλης αυτής της ιστορίας? Πάνω από 200 άτομα νεκρά , υποδομές εκατέρωθεν κατεστραμμένες , μια γενικότερη αναταραχή που το μόνο της αποτέλεσμα είναι να οξύνει τα πνεύματα διεθνώς και στην ουσία ένας λαός χωρίς πατρίδα. Η περιοχή είναι η αλήθεια πως δεν ανήκει μόνο στους Παλαιστίνιους ή μόνο στους Ισραηλίτες , αλλά και οι δύο λαοί έχουν ανάλογα δικαιώματα και θέση μέσα σε αυτή. Οι ενέργειες του Ισραήλ της τελευταίες μέρες δίνουν την εντύπωση πως στόχος του είναι να αφανίσει κυριολεκτικά την Παλαιστίνη , με τους θανάτους τόσων ανθρώπων να θέτουν ερωτήματα και να αναγκάζει τους λαούς παγκοσμίως να αναζητούν ηθικές αξίες όπως ο ανθρωπισμός , τις οποίες θα έπρεπε οι διεθνείς οργανισμοί να προστατεύουν , οι οποίοι περιορίστηκαν στο να στέλνουν μηνύματα για ειρήνη και σταθερότητα , χωρίς να λάβουν μέτρα παρά μόνο στο τέλος. Η παγκόσμια δυσανασχέτηση που υπάρχει για τα γεγονότα αυτά δεν είναι τυχαία και δείχνει την πραγματικότητα πως οι λαοί δεν έχουν πρόβλημα ο ένας με τον άλλο. Ένας φίλος Παλαιστίνιος μου είπε , όταν συζητούσαμε για το θέμα : “είναι πικρό να ξέρεις πως δεν έχεις πατρίδα και καταγωγή”...

Israel and Arabs (again…)

This an old story. It is that old that even the key players are tired...or not! The last fews days we've been watching just another round between two very old players in the region. I previously called them as key players. To be frank, they used to be the key players.

But first things first. In order to understand today's status quo we need to dig our history books to find out how things end up like that. Balknas and Middle East, two very easy targets for all Great Powers to cause trouble to mankind and alter the balance of forces in the geostrategic field.

To cut a long story short, we will begin from the Roman Times and we will gradually come to 1948, the year when Israel declared its independance after the UN resolution and started all the drama (or just continued it...). During Roman Times, Judea the so called today Palestine was considered mainly a bad assignment for most Roman officials. Reason was simple; isolated region, rebels and not as illustrated as other regions (Greece, France etc...). Most Roman officials who did their time there couldn't resolve the chaotic atmosphere. The Byzantines who heired the region (Easter Roman Empire which was after renamed to Byzantium) did manage to control the region for a few centuries until 640AD, when Arabs seized control of the area until our days (just before the end of WWI).

Talking blunt, what we notice is that the inhabitants of the region for almost 1300 years are mainly Arabs. Jew population was a minority during the Arabic period and trust me 1300 years is just a very long period for any nation to keep its national ID together. Westerns tried with too many methods to control that part of the world, for commerce purposes during Middle Ages with the famous Crusades, noone should have illusions about the real purpose of the Crusades or gaining access to the oil resources which are so close to Palestine during modern Ages. That led British and French fighting for control and influence on the Arabs who lived there, Syria, Jordan, Palestine Region (West Bank), Egypt, Lebanon. But where are the Jews? Of course they were there but considering that they were scattered across Europe, fleding from their homeland for no reason pretty much gave the Arabs every reason to claim that region for good and forever.

And suddenly we reach year 3rd of the Great War, about 1917, when the British financial reports indicated that the vast Empire is in immediate need of cash to maintain the war against Germany, Turkey and Austria. That's the ticket for Jewish community (or lobby as a modern term) to get back into the internation scene. They would provide the cash and British would use all their diplomatic and military will to alter the status quo of the Palestine region and give a Jew state to them. Indeed the war was won against the Turks who were helding the Holy Lands and Brits occupied the region creating a mixed state of Jews and Arabs under the famous British Mandate. That decision upset the nearby Arab states and the people within the borders of the occupied zone. During the British occupation, immigration from Jews was allowed but had little success. During that period, between the two World Wars, Arabs revolted quite a few times and in come occasions brutalities against the Jewish population occured. Throughout the years of second world war, Brits trained some thousands Israeli officers and troops to modern warfare and supplied them with weapons, armored vehicles etc. After the end of the war as most of us know, the UN decided to split Palestine into two states, one with Jewish goverment and the other under Arabic control. Jews accepted the resolution as basis for negotation while Arabs turned it down. Israel announced its independance, 1948, and immediately the nearby Arab states attacked it. And that's when the story begun. The story afterwards is well known, Israel won its independance and seized control over areas that were to be given to the Arabs with the UN resolution, while Egypt and Jordan shared a piece of the Palestine pie by occupying Gaza strip and West Bank. Later during the Suez Crisis , the Sinai Peninsula was captured and with the six days war , Israel had gained control of the Sinai Peninsula, the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights. That's pretty much the status until today. Israel made a few more wars, but they were unsuccesfull to alter the status quo of the region, probably until today.

With the history lesson over, lets move on crisitising today's facts without generalising or falling into the loop to blame for everything either Israel or the Arabs, they both have their share for today's bloodfest there. Fact number one, Israel is responsible for all the so called terrorism against it. Certain policits bring unfortunate results and there are always consequences that will harm your population and your profile. I keep telling everyone that they need to look for the money when trying to understand world politics. It is a very easy way to figure out why everything is happening, without having to go very deep into region demographics or starting to dig up past events that might have caused a conflict. Lets try to follow the money here.

Jews generally are very rich people, there are quite a few quotes that confirm that even if someone doesnt know it for fact. Jews didnt have a home, they didnt ever had a home actually. A small minority who kept living in the Biblic region didnt care much to identify themselves as a state. That is a fact and not a hypothesis. There are no known revolts of Jewish people, especially after Byzantine years and that makes it almost 1800 years, very long time actally. Secondly every time that Jews managed to get any power at all, especially military,  they completely over-abused it. This is a proven fact in Israel's history and it is proved by all their actions after 1948. Thirdly Jews are known for their commerce ability. That's how they gained their vast fortune. And the money makes the world go around. Here comes the year 1917, England is desperate for some cash, fighting the war against Kaizer and the Austrians while protecting its colonies almost everywhere in the world was too expensive. Do not neglet that USA at that time was not an ally for England, not at least the way it is today. So the Jewish community stepped up and provided the British with the needed cash to fight the war against especially the Ottomans who at that period were in control of the Jewish region that we call today Israel. The deal was apparently that after the war, England would make the neccessary movements to give Jews their state. For too many reasons that state didn't come with the end of World War I but after 30 years, after WWII was over. Yet again money does all the trick. England didnt wish to give up their strong presence in Middle East that easily, even though they knew they couldnt support large army there. USA which after World War II are controlled by the powerfull Jewish lobby will blackmail Britain by cutting off the so much needed loans. So England was forced either to give up to both USA's and USSR's will to form Israel state to the region or simply lose all the Empire.

On the other hand we have the Arabs. Always with bad strategy, always with bad timing, always so predictable. Ever since the crusades started they allowed Europeans and generally westerns to interfere in what we would call "family business". They were unlucky to have in their disposal world's largest oil reserve. That will make them targets since the industrial revolution. Europe and America will need that oil and that means that will do anything to get it cheaper. That is the purpose of the existence of Israeli state in that region. It was an on purpose state creation so Westerns could have a strategic ally in the region which unlikely Arabs ,will havean interest to maintain its alliance with them, because its very own viability would depends on foreign help. Arabs just like Jews were given a resolution by the UN which was spliting the Palestine region into two pieces; not only they didnt negotiate the plan but draw the nearby Arab states into war with Israel. Of course that didnt happen because the rest were sympathetic for those living in West Bank or Gaza Stripe. Not at all, Jordan was playing double game and took over West Bank while Egypt siezed control over Gaza. Exactly the regions today Palestinian People is asking to be liberated and recognised as free state. Irony?

Let's continue. Israel is not defending itself. It thas invaded Lebanon too many times to defend itself. Even occupied the south for enough years to prevent any attacks from there. Israel didnt play it nice from the very beginning. Arabs indeed were hostile against it. Yes that is true. Arabs did attack it. Indeed. What Israel did? With the assistance provided by the west they took over lands that didnt belong to Israel. Not to mention that Arabs couldnt believe that a state out of nowhere was established right in their frontyard. And on top of that they had to suffer great losses in almost all their military and lose strategic locations (Sinai, Golan). Dont you think it went too damn far? Does anyone think what if Israel was just defending itself, rather go on offensive, either alone or support England, France or god knows who else. That's what Israel did. That's what Israel does until our days. Almost every invasion had a joke excuse. Just like USA or USSR did/does. Irony?

And here lies the big question. The Arabs are so innocent? Didnt they provoke that? Yes and no I say. Yes because technically they were the first ones who attacked and no because they were forced to accept terms quite painfull to them. I am a westerner, I cannot understand how difficult it must be to plant a different religion's state in the perfect spot. It is like China decides to create a confucianism state in Balkans. Total chaos will emerge. Which state will accept that? Greece?  Albania? Serbia? Bulgaria? None. Pretty much same situation like Middle East, only there was a small excuse that Jews were habitats there some thousand years ago. Backstab? I dont know, unfair for sure to the Muslims.

I only feel pity for those people in the Palestinian cities. They were tricked by both their fellow Arabs and West. And now they are facing a mortal enemy which has gained so much power that is quite dangerous. I am watching every day in my television all those fancy Israeli helicopters and airplanes, launching not fireworks but real rockets, hitting so called strategic targets and on the other hand killing hundrends. How difficult it can be to paralyze a terrorist organization? Not that easily but it can be done. It needs patience, hi-technology, sophisticated methods and skilled personnel. Italy had terrorism. So did Spain. Hell even Greece had. None of them accused a foreign country for covering up terrorist groups even though it would be easily and it would definetely bring some huge drama. They knew very well it was domestic terrorism, terrorism produced and fueled by the problems inside each country. It was a problem which Anti-Terrorist police resolved. Not the Army. What does make Israelis think that the terrorism they face is external? Upon creation of their state they had Arab population. They literally did everything to capture more Arabic regions. Hell there are even more Arabs living there. Who you are fighting then? Arabs who either live or used to live in your state. What makes that different than ETA in Spain? They are both fighting for an indepedent country. I guess Spain was stupid that didnt bring tanks and fired everything they had against Basques.

Noone denies any country to defend itself. But this is not about defence here. It is about to clear the path from Arabs. Plain and simple. Jews dont like it but it is unfortunately the blood cold truth. Arabs patience wont be endless. No man can suffer forever and they do have suffered badly. My thoughts and blesses with the suffering Palestinians, I have seen some terrible images and videos, big thanks to my friend Mohammend for providing me such information, unfortunately I cannot publish them because those images are outcome of a war and every war alters every human, no matter what nationality, religion or colour skin you got. And a last wish for Israeli people, stop making the same mistake. The rockets will stop when you stop.
